Djem Sohma
x--The Goddess
x--The Goddess
Name: Djem Sohma
Age: 23
Curse?: In a manner of speaking - she's the goddess.
Grade: Graduated high school, did not bother with college.
Profession: Djem has no reason or desire to work.
Sexuality: Heterosexual, officially, but she's not really that picky.
Birthday: May 16.
Parents/Family: Parents dead. Older brother Sho still living.
Likes: Windows, birds, photography, art.
Dislikes: Children, full moons, warmth, kotatsus.
Personality: Domineering and cold, Djem isn't one to err on the side of caution, nor is she one to pull a punch. She's violent, but not usually without a cause - you really do have to piss her off before she'll snap on you. She has a soft spot for Sho, but absolutely no patience for children, and is easily irritated. She isn't the kind of person to give things her all, either - it's incredibly difficult to get her to put all of herself into one thing or person, including the Juunishi. She trusts them not one bit, but she still doesn't want to share.
Appearance: Djem has medium-length, razor-cut black hair, and grey eyes. Her face is a little more gaunt than is typically considered pretty, and her skin is chalky white. She's nearly always cold to the touch, and likes to wear shorts and tanktops, mostly because of her aversion to warmth. She's around 5 feet 8 inches tall, and very thin.
Skills: Giving orders, throwing a right hook, and pulling off the 'cool' aura. She's a decent painter and sculptor as well.
Background: Djem grew up in a nuclear family, and wasn't nearly as psychotic until her parents died in a car crash when she was eighteen. After that, she spent a delightful time dealing with the twin demons of anorexia and depression. Due to Sho's influence, she's eating more and taking meds, but they're, of course, not entirely fixing the problem. She also has slight schizophrenic tendencies, which were brought out more at that time as well, but since then she's managed to get a stronger hold on that.
Roleplay Example:
Djem snapped her fingers and clicked her teeth together, shooting a dirty look at the obanyaki Sho had brought her from the summer festival she'd chosen not to go to. She could already see it making her fat and ugly...goddesses are supposed to be beautiful, beautiful, so allluring that men turn to stone at the sight of them?
Or were those the Gorgons? It didn't seem to matter quite so much as it had in school, so Djem dropped the subject of mythology for the moment and decided that she could give the obanyaki to a servant. They were good about eating or disposing of food she didn't want, and a certain percentage of them could be trusted not to tell Sho that she was skipping out on her meals. Those that weren't...well, it was too bad that they wouldn't listen to the Goddess. Maybe she'd punish them for it later, when she wasn't so damned tired.
Tired and cold. That seemed like all she felt lately - being cold was a plus, of course, because heat was just overpowering and suffocating and tied you to the ground - but the exhaustion was wearing her down. She'd been working on the same sculpture for a week now, a pretty white rendition of a cardinal, and although she probably could have had it done a few days ago under normal circumstances, it wasn't three-fourths of the way there yet.
With a sigh, and another snap of her fingers, Djem sat down to work, those fingers dancing in and out of the clay, sliding water across it's surface to smooth and dragging a chopstick across it for details.
By the time she fell asleep an hour later, the obanyaki was covered in a layer of slowly drying clay with messy kanjis scrawled into it, and the cardinal sculpture hadn't been touched.
